100% electric version of SpaceTourer: New Citroën ë-SpaceTourer

A conventionally powered large MPV that allows five to nine people to travel without compromising on comfort, versatility and design, the electric version of the Space Tourer shows up with a 50kWh battery that’s good for 220km range. Built on the EMP2 modular platform, SpaceTourer has an efficient architecture suitable for a multitude of uses, helped by outstanding boot volume and a steering suited for city use.

Single motor of 135HP and front wheel drive, the new Citroen starts the transition to EV in the people-carrier segment. Limited in height to 1.90m to comply with most car park areas, it is a slightly bulky animal expanding to 4.95m in length, 1.92m in width and a configurable cargo space that can reach 2,381 litres.
Now, granted the new MPV is not a racing one. Acceleration to 100KPH fall within our famous “who cares anymore?” class. Top speed is limited to 130KPH which, hopefully, will make the drivers plan their trips carefully and, perhaps more importantly, keep them away from traffic fines.

Battery charge can be done at up to 100kW chargers, at which it takes a mere 30 minutes. Wall sockets of 32A will take almost 8 hours, and a 3-phase 11kW will do the trick in just shy of 5 hours.

It is intended to come into the shop sporting a warranty of 8 years. We are still waiting for a comprehensive pricelist for the two available trims. Certainly an interesting perspective.
