Lamborghini goes hard, again. The Super Trofeo Omologata. IN gets a closer look at what will likely be one of the most exclusive kitties out of Santa Agata

The EVO is not enough? Even the phenomenal 2WD? Well, if you want to save nearly 50 kg, have racing brakes and suspensions, carbon fiber seats and body-panels, the STO is here for you. Not many of you.

The Lamborghini Huracán STO – Super Trofeo Omologata – is a road-homologated super sports car inspired by the racing heritage of Lamborghini Squadra Corse’s one-make Huracán Super Trofeo EVO race series, as well as its three-time 24 Hours of Daytona-winning and two-time 12 Hours of Sebring-winning Huracán GT3 EVO.

We had our world exclusive touch and feel of this new super-bull and we were stunned. This new Huracan is a race track dedicated monster, pushed by the naturally aspirated 10 Cylinder engine, capable of 640 HP, 2WD and Four Wheel Steering. Lambo claims 3 seconds from still to 100 km/h, 9 seconds to 200 km/h and a top speed of 310 km/h

We spent a few hours with the STO and we can guarantee that the use of Carbon Fiber is massive. From the interiors to the body panels, the rear wing, the side panels and the whole front lid are majestically forged in stupendous black fiber. The rear lid can be fully unistalled with the touch of two simple locks, just like a race car. The front windscreen is thinner, to save few hundred grams. The wheel show a single center nut, like the Race Car of the Championship.

The interiors look quite similar to the standard EVO apart from the dedicated Carbon Fiber Seats, manually adjustable, the alcantara steering wheel and the racing latches at the doors, instead of the regular handles. It feels very racey.

We got to drive it at a private test at moderate speed and the immediate feel is the evident stiffness of the suspensions, the higher mechanical noise. It surely is a rougher experience than the mature EVO sister and we fell in love, the same way we loved the previous Huracans. We cannot wait to drive it hard in the right environment.
